Slashing splashes of rain in the dark of night; loud lightning did strike an electrifying sight as trees did bend and beg for mercy from the winds and a heart did pound loudly to make amends for the foul weather and attitudes cast about, for the mournful cries spewed with anger in shout. Suddenly, an eerie calm descended, the clouds vanished as if banished from the visible horizon. I found myself standing alone, embracing a peaceful reverie, accepting the solo moment of me. "I found myself standing alone, embracing a peaceful reverie, accepting the solo moment of me." I've had a few of these 'at peace with myself' moments. You describe it so well Kacy. Hugs~Nancy ~ Trace my body with your words, |

Embracing a peaceful reverie... Liked your contrast here between storm and calm. Good to read your writing again, Midnitesun. miscellanea |

I loved this and related to it so very well, and oh that line "accepting the solo moment of me" - yes that really hits me in the solar plexus. Your poem reminds me of a poem that I wrote when I was 16. I am too embarassed to post it on the pip board for all to see as it is very childish and extremely amateurish, though the feeling I was trying to convey (in my humble opinion) isn't. It can't be - as it is somewhat similar to something Midnitesun wrote about! Here it is here in the protection of Midnitesun's haven (but then everyone reads Midnitesun, so what's the difference?): WALL OF DARKNESS 1961 I stood and looked in the cool of the twilight - The sun was peacefully sinking low, her last rays glowing and lovingly encompassing the world in a soft and rich, warm glow. Suddenly a trembling, rumbling, grumbling shook the world of that mighty plain and out of the east, with a powerful thundering, the wild black horses of dark night came, tossing their heads as they galloped in number, their tails outstretched in the whistling wind. I stood transfixed as they surged towards me, unable to move or turn away. Larger and larger they grew and larger, until in their race they surrounded me. With thrashing hooves in their furious charge, they rushed right on to the western sea until they reached these deep, deep waters, and left me behind in the night - alone. - Owl |

WOW OWL, I really enjoyed your write, not finding it amateurish at all. It proves you've always been a superb writer, even in your teens showing great talent. Thank you for your warm and quite generous comments! |
