OASIS
10 March 2001

The dull grey pavements
of insipid chatroom conversation,
splattered with dark stains,
faded.

And in their place,
for a lifetime and a moment,
there was a moon-kissed, waterfall flow
of too much beauty.

I was awe-struck
and too late I tried to catch each butterfly word
and hold it gently
and without restraint
to examine at will later
and from all sides
and in all lights
amongst the forest foliage.
.
Forlornly, I cling to the hope
that they were not spontaneous
on those pavements grey
and that they are written
in sunbeams
on the hearts of trees
somewhere where your spirit breathes.

Oh my gosh ... I absolutely ADORE these silken thoughts~
