I kept every single picture that you sent me, I can't look at them, I cannot bear the pain. "You fool! You fool! You fool, you went and hurt her"- That's my conscience screaming out the dread refrain. I never dreamed that love could so surprise me- Almost before I knew it, there it was. You felt it, too. That's even more amazing... Like flame it seemed to draw two silly moths. Then I realized my dreams could never happen. That my lifestyle doomed we two to dwell apart. When I broke the news, I felt my soul was dying... And all feeling seemed to drain out of my heart. I would write, but that would only hurt more deeply- I'd call, but neither one of us could bear... The pain the each "goodbye " would surely cause us, I have to leave you be, because I care. |
