What did you say - what, what, what, what? And just like a train but, no, like a plane because tracks are like traps for the insane the answer chews up the mystical sky before landing here as truth or a lie. I have a mountain, you see, but it’s not really mine brick walls all around erected for crime and a shrill and piercing alarm to detect life’s plain and simple and ordinary facts let loose into air through any old stare … and “what, what, what” just the mind of a fool expecting repeats of what’s never said. And next to my mountain but really beneath runs a small stream that once was a river battling the throw of tins, garbage, packets, like a myriad of words that sully the truth … and the time of clamour, scamper, and slide down the steep sides of perceived lies a chore too hard for the aged and frail because the skin too thin lets everything in. On my left a collie, tri-coloured and bright, on my right a spaniel as stupid as life, but the same in and out come day or night and that, my love, is how you’ll find me someday perhaps in the mystical sky of time!
