Dreams of Ontario County 17 April 2006 It was a lonely night, but you were there Each memory of a dream a girl in tallness and red hair Her eyes like diamonds, sparking in time past This sleep, at rest, a dream that could not last Addresses exchanged, mercy given, a pledge made. - My actress on her stage of being debonair in her beauty, void of age Timeless, forever an eternal understanding as to those berries of flower Much like a Hollyhock fruit of a merciful past this kiss, our first and last Was it Ontario Province in Canada, or Ontario City, a settlement of the state of California, USA. Or Ontario County in New York state, in the United States of America. An eternal Ontario, much as to a night of dreams. Ontario County is a county located in the state of New York, USA. The county seat is the city of Canandaigua. The name is a corruption of the Iroquois word meaning “beautiful lake.” Ontario (On-tar-i-o) A province of east-central Canada. It joined the Canadian confederation in 1867. First visited by French explorers in the early 1600s, it passed to the British in 1763 and became part of the province of Quebec in 1774. It was called Upper Canada after its division from Quebec (then Lower Canada) in 1791. Reunited with Lower Canada in 1841, it became a separate province with the formation of the confederation. Lake Ontario is the smallest of the Great Lakes, between southeast Ontario, Canada, and northwest New York, USA. The St. Lawrence Seaway and Welland Ship Canal connect with the lake to afford passage by ocean going vessels to the other Great Lakes. Ontario City the largest city in San Bernadino County, is found in southern California, USA, east of the City of Los Angeles. It is a residential and industrial centre in a citrus-growing region . for some reason 80-90% of my present online contact is in Ontario, Canada my late Mother, who died March, 02 2006, has had pen friends in Ontario as long ago as 1945 Much of what I have composed in my verses of the last 6 months, has a connection with Ontario, as if there was a reason to pause at this time and ponder. For even where Lake Erie borders Ohio, I have composed works in relation to all of the above 5312 Ontario and Back 18 April 2006 She was born in Picot County moved across the line Seeking out Toronto to grow in ways divine A child of Nova Scotia new Scotland raised This name in all its title Latin paraphrased Born in the north migrated south Even if to Ontario, before looking Halifax in the mouth Like a dart to an arrow travelling down Main Street Where The Narrows and Dartmouth Cove do meet “Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” Matthew 7: 14 KJV © 2006 Christopher W Herbert (a New Zealand Poet) a poet who cares |

Having been born 'n raised in Ontario (now was that the province, city, or county? lol), I was more than a bit intrigued by your poem and the info! you must have missed this one then, when what are friends for, to be inspired by /pip/Forum94/HTML/002953.html and I put up the picture that launched almost 200 poems (so far) two spirits connected in kind, oceans and half a world apart. as to not deny the inner-voice in ways of comfort when romance never does exist and that does not count the New York beauty, the original post was composed for - The girl from Ontario County, NY, USA a poet who cares |
