I Wonder Still I wonder still… do you know of heaven and hell I know too well of hell the giving up and giving in there was once upon a time I lined up every tiny grain trying to make you a castle knowing full well you were a charming beast but my heart danced and hurt is always worth the risk where safety is not too small for chance in love’s wild manners I am not safe for dusty roads are where I’ve traveled scarty cats, they all run genuinely, I AM raw emotions I now admit having to quit pretending that it wasn’t you that held my heart and that I really loved even if it were for a fleeting moment there was once a place a place so close inside me that there was no room for anything but you but I stood still and watched my heart run ahead where I stood in silence keeping it all to myself I should have said (wishing is the regret that past me) I should have said… whispers now ache the words letters are all I have now all that is left in unsorted alphabet for you were the words what is there left to write and still I wonder … just some words cut out |

Helen, it is as if you have been living a country song ~ and you just sang it with such feeling. A very moving write. Love & Light, Linda |

I adore the courage of your work, m'friend. It takes a great deal of heart and personal responsibility to own up to "I"--- and you do this with grace, m'friend. I pray for your continued happiness. |

"you were a charming beast but my heart danced and hurt is always worth the risk" Well done I must say. The hurt is always worth the risk, sounds familiar. The poem also reminded me of a song, if you don't know it you'd might like to check it out, think you'd like it The song is Angelica, by Anathema. I'll post a link to the lyrics: http://www.darklyrics.com/lyrics/anathema/eternity.html#2 Love "How happy is the blameless vestal's lot! The world forgetting, by the world forgot. Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind!" |
