There was a time, many years ago, when I toyed with the thought  of having my little verses published.   I pondered upon sending them forth into the great wide world and even prepared a manuscript.   Then...as is my nature... I began toying with other thoughts.
Had I continued with the thought of a book... The poem below would have been placed at the beginning.

                      Bon Voyage
                    **************

        Look at you !   Filled out and fully grown !
               Prepared to face the world alone.
           You've come to mean so much to me ;
        I must summon the strength to set you free.

Now, like a young sparrow, you long for flight's test ;
        No longer content in your desk drawer nest.
Your pages, like wings, must be spread to mark span ;
  To faith I must cling, to send you forth from my hand.

What possessed me to grant you such effort and time ?
         Hours spent penning your trivial rhymes ;
       Often strown loosely, sometimes in meter ;
Do you seriously think you can entertain readers?

  'Tis a cruel hearted world !   You must do well or die !
        'Tis a true test of courage to allow you to try.
Go !   Cruise the currents !    You've finally been freed ;
         Fly, little venturer !    I wish you God speed !

Larry??  Yes, I seriously think you can...you sure do me!  I think you should rethink this whole venture and go back to your original thought.  Please!

BEAUTIFUL!!!  I'll buy a copy too!.  I have read a couple of your poems, at least I think the other one was you, and I think you'd make a great song-writer.  Don't know your voice but I'm sure if you are writing songs, like me, you enjoy singing.  This was beautiful and I wish my parents would do this for me - I'm 37 now!! lol  some just can't let go.  AWESOME!!!

Well, XO, ya knows ya gotta fan in me 'n I'd be first in line ta by a book of yer pennins!

Seriously speaking, do not put your dream of being a published writer on the back burner. You have so much wit, charm, wisdom, humour ~ and talent!

Yes, this would make for an excellent intro poem to your first book that IS going to be published!

Reach as high as you can reach. Even if you were not to succeed in your own mind, you would still be among the stars. Stars

~ but a little birdie told me for you to believe in what you have to offer to the world!

Let those pages fly high and free!

Love & Light,

Sign me up for a copy Uriah.
I love your opening poem. Our
poems really are like our
children, aren't they?
