You are serene and non-chalaunt
I guess you remind me of a wall
it's probable, eventually, I'll give up
on trying to get over you at all

I am severe, loud, and beautiful
I guess I remind me of a tidal wave
shaking up the sand while you casually stand
with the look of the victim that became brave

I'm not sure I'll ever see the top of you
no matter how hard I try to go the distance,
someone wrote once that people are mostly water
and water flows downhill around any resistance

I only wonder what it is you hide
maybe there's a way underneath or through
but it's probable that eventually
I'll settle back into my sea,
giving up on getting over you.
