Ain’t Been Easy
~ Linda L. Dowd ~

My life ain’t been easy,
I've been tested; I've been tried.
But through my pains 'n troubles,
Achin' sorrows I did hide.

My Georgia disposition,
Comes from the strength not to succumb,
To the arrows of misfortune
That pierce my heart when slung.

My life's been marked by tragedies,
Losses more than I could bear.
But somewhere deep inside of me,
I've found the courage there.

My body has been ravaged
And my spirit near left me.
But I claimed my life and power,
Now I'm healthy, strong and free!

My path's been strewn with roadblocks,
Miles high they seemed to be.
But I blasted them, one by one,
And marched to victory.

No matter what may come my way,
Or the battles to be fought,
I’ll grin and bear ~ and face what’s there,
And give it my best shot!

“The time has come for man to lay down
his arms, and pick up each other.”
~ Linda L. Dowd

No, it ain't been easy! But somehow, those country guys 'n gals work it all out!

Do you have any music that has been composed to your lyrics, Linda? I've always wanted to write a song, but I know I can't write music. Good work!

Hi, sky!

I've written over 40 songs ~ ballads, country, children's, instrumentals, spanish, sea shanties ~ and some naughty ones to spice things up a bit! lol

I've performed them at schools (not the naughty ones! Laughing Baby), company Christmas parties, functions, shop openings, libraries ~ Nothing as excitin' as Nashville! lol

Sending you a hug-o-love,
