yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I shall fear no evil for I have a bootlegged copy of Hendrix at Berkeley the high notes float my mind a gazillion light years into another space and time in my right hand -- pen and paper in my left hand -- "A Course in Miracles" a soul w/a charasmatic light dreams overflow my pocket I walk w/power and pride sure-foot sensuality and mentality that gluttons mistake for malaise I make my way to speak the Gospel of Creativity to convert infidels into disciples and to make this rock my electric sky church where the thoughts of Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Andy Warhol are encrypted on the left and right brain I be stimulating molecules to move one nation under a groove metaphorically moving mountains with my thoughts and singing bodies pulsating rhythms snapping fingers creative fire is contagious! BAILA MORENA BAILA... y saca tu sol let free your soul liberate yourself incinerate short-sighted mentality we are one and in oneness we literally shift the universe off it's axis the spirits of Josephine Baker beckons us to emancipate ourselves from mental slavery like Bob Marley signify the gods of timbales signal us to harmonize and be one w/the spirits that reside in the soul of man and woman/kind I am a soldier dance, brown woman, dance take out your light LIBERATE! LIBERATE! LIBERATE! |

Timothy Leary...(and his brother "Really") ....and Hendrix has fender pick like teeth....with fret marks on his gums...Duane Allman could hit slide from one inch from the bridge with Statesboro Blues....Warhol would get chills from the shrills....and what about the dancing brown women....did Aretha roll with soul or what?...Janis, the white gal with black soul...and just who was left behind with the purple haze and California Sunshine...acid for the soul....man's way of seeing what wasn't yet to be...and yes, I'll take one more toke....just to remember the good old days....but I can't remember them clearly....???...But I've been where you are...I think? |

First of all, welcome to PIP. You will love it here. This was a neat poem. Kind of humourous, but kind of musical. It had a little bit of a lot of things to it. I enjoyed reading it and found I was able to read it fast, which is unusual for me due to an eye disorder. I think your poem is well done. Sheri Adams Jesus lives in my heart! He can in yours too!!! |
