I’d love to tell you of a name, but really I can’t find A special caring sharing soul that really comes to mind There are people I would call my friends, but rarely do I see Any of them take the time to spend some time with me With that I also understand, for I’m forever hurried Searching time that isn’t there while being ever worried Not making time to mingle much, though when I do it’s great Letting time just rule the roost, until the time’s too late I don’t much like intrusions or bands that play too loud I’m distant and might stand alone, though happy in a crowd I draw my joy from those that show me truth throughout each day My best friend seems to be a mix of things that come my way I somehow think that solitude may be my one best friend My peace, my time of reconcile, to dream on and pretend For there I seem my happiest, at rest from all around Where I can find the things I yearn and where a peace is found It’s when you wake up happy, to a day that’s bright and new When seeing joy through puppy eyes when playing as they do The fragrant scent of nature, the sight of beauties hold The joy we find in sharing when a secret’s softly told I think a best friend’s all these things, but where is one to look Many choose religion and the answers from its book And though I might a little, while praying with my hope A best friend is a found escape that helps another cope So if you have a true best friend, with love just hold them tight For treasures such are rarities, which most will never sight For days unite acquaintances, which join to face each day But gifts of love are true best friends, which rarely come our way |

I love this and can empathise with every word. On this forum, there are many good, true, loyal friends. I loved the part about seeing through puppy eyes, and the animal world is a wonderful place to seek true friends. I find animals so much easier than people for two-way-communication, -understanding, -acceptance -love, -respect, -loyalty and -appreciation. - Owl |

A best friend is a found escape that helps another cope ~*~ We have some special friends... and when we are there, or they more likely are here, in our neck of the woods, we have at times referred to one another as "escape goats"... because "they" need us. And then? We "escape" from the world. We know we do this, we delight at the opportunities... and we laugh all the way through the hours. Thank you for this, Rick. I think I will send it to them! |

I somehow think that solitude may be my one best friend My peace, my time of reconcile, to dream on and pretend For there I seem my happiest, at rest from all around Where I can find the things I yearn and where a peace is found I think you and I are alike, friend I truly enjoyed this. Its wonderful! Caroline He who wants a rose must respect the thorn. |

You just told 90% of my life story....the other ten is, those beautiful exceptions that make the rest of it bearable. Most of mine live here, or visit here from time to time. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |
