A small voice said, You are old! In defence I replied, Don’t be so bold, you know I don’t do old slower perhaps but not old. Then what are you if not old? Did ask the young Miss. I would say I am With age, young madam. You would do well to respect that age Young Miss Bliss. Well! What age are you at? She flashed back. Old enough to know better than to conduct such a debate With a six year old sprat That would be better if fed to the cat. SEE! She screeched with glee. I knew you were old. One day I may Be aged enough To know When to keep my mouth SHUT. |

My seventeen year old grandson informed me last night that I am old. I said, "What makes you think so?" "Gram, I am going to be a dad in two months!" "And that makes me old?" I asked. He didn't have an answer for me....I've been going the other way for some time now! LOL ~ Karen |

I suppose all poetry had its place hated your style - loved your poem ----------------- "It is not what the poem is about, but the way reading the poem, makes you feel inside your own body. Never try and understand the poem, or attempt to translate what you think the poet was thinking. Let to poem be who you are and what you want to poem to mean. If reading a poem a second time, you see other pictures, from the first time, allow those pictures to be painted within your own head and mind. And most of all let the poem be you, and become that poem. When reading a poem makes you feel good, in your eyes the poem is good. The same goes for being happy and sad. Live the life you have, not the life of the poet." Christopher W Herbert: 22 April 2006 a poet who cares |
