Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains lies a little piece of Heaven that my baby calls home. Her eyes are sad and lonely and her lips are alway poutin' Longing in her heart for the hills she used to roam. She's got to breathe that mountain air and feel Heaven just above her mind. No where else she finds herself can set her soul at rest. She needs to get back to the hills....Like a flower needs the sunshine. Just like a baby needs to be close to its mother's breast. If you find a mountain flower.....Please don't make the beauty spoil. Don't you try to pick it from the hillside where it grows. I've got to plant her back in her Blueridge Mountain soil In those heavenly foothills where the Hazel River flows. The Lord says in all things we should be contented, But there just is no other way that she'll find peace of mind. I never should have took her down...no harm was intended. A wild mountain rose only grows... if left upon the vine. |

Uriah, if this is written from personal experience, it sounds like your wife is very homesick for her mountains. I love your writing. Your descriptions are so vivid. Hugs, Ethel |
