I saw a little bluebird,
in a tree way up high.
She was singin to a mourning dove,
"What makes you want to cry?"
I heard the little mourning dove,
say I've forgotten how to fly.
I just don't feel like singin,
I feel I'm gonna die."

Yes I saw a little bluebird,
as I was passin by.
She was singin to a mourning dove,
"Why don't you give it one more try?"
The little mourning dove,
had this to say in reply,
"If you think I can do it,
I'll give it one more try.
If you think I can do it,
I'll try again to fly."

I saw a little bluebird,
walk way out on a limb.
She was singin to the mourning dove,
singin just for him.
"Little mourning dove,
your the symbol of love.
Spread your wings and fly up high.
Little mourning dove,
sing peace and love.
Won't you give it one more try?"

I saw a little bluebird,
spread her little wings and fly.
I saw a little mourning dove,
give it one more try.
Yes I heard the little bluebird,
singin a happy song.
I heard the little mourning dove,
singin right along.

When I heard the little bluebird,
singin her happy song,
I couldn't help but smilin,
I just had to sing along.
When I heard the little bluebird,
singing to the little dove.
I couldn't help but smilin,
I feel like fallin in love.
I couldn't help but smilin,
and fallin deeper in love.

Thank you for the poem, Steven. I know that I have also had some bluebirds in my life, and am so thankful for them.

Morning Steven.
I have mourning doves nesting here every year.
Did you know they mate for life?
Amazing and I love their call.

Steve, you've put me in a happy mood with your bluebird song! I feel like singing and flying and soaring into the blue skies. Love makes the world go 'round ~ and you just added some more spin to it!

What a glorious song this would make!

May the bluebird of happiness greet you each morning with its love song!

Loveya!

Steven, thank you.  I can hear the birds in the stillness of a gray morning right now! I have only seen one dove--a few years ago.  She was the gentlest creature and made no attempt to fly from me.  We just shared our world softly for a few moments, as you have this morning.
