The green of spring awaits me, As I rise to greet the day. I have always loved the fragrances- In April and in May. But all the beauty in my life, I fear is up and gone. What joy can a person have, Who walks life's path...alone? I used to make the statement- "I can stand on my own feet." I need nothing, and no one, Life's challenges to meet. For years I was a drifter, And I sang the loner's song. And lived only for the moment- But I know now I was wrong. I should have raised my children, And given them my time. For they have none for me, now. And lonely days are mine. I should have planned a future- Saved for a rainy day, No use to cry, when milk is spilled, Or so I've heard them say. What purpose serve my lines of rhyme? I really do not know... Perhaps I'm only leaving sign As down the road I go. |

Sometimes life just doesn't seem as beautiful if there is no one to share it with. My best to you, Gunslinger. ~sky I hope someday you get the chance to live like you were dying.... |
