short stories became a dancing bear with territorial instincts of exact opposites drawing audible breath, like a bread and butter business…an imminent train of flirtation evening hanging out of his pockets like some narcissistic finger pointing to my traveling bags and that small pool of blood moving up my screened porch surreal adventure, kidnapping wild rivers each bearing the name of imagination, to an african safari gaze, traveling around the clock, trying to disrupt any element of social protest…the price of a little coaxing, to a blanketing embrace indicating someone was trying to break in scrambling an element of risk restless green eyes wearing black leather milking a parting cup of lost senses along some sniper ridden expressway closes the bridge that once was safe amour hard benched in summer skirts, foot deep in baggy jackets like a battering ram i saw his cupped hands, needle hanging out of his sleeve, when the first cuff, clutched my fading camouflage pattern…inflated overalls littered his workbench, coiling right angles of paper thin stability, like liquid pellets hammering against my window with black clouds of detail it was a confirming grenade to any park avenue dream of sweet sixteen romance, hugging some masculine fashion lined glass of spirit drinkers hissing elegant waves of multi colored smoke, dispelling a quick nose token, scattering evil smelling ruins skating on thin ice, and a whisper of melt down forced a plan to transport a violent death into a red carpet warehouse of mission, one that would open a door forcing me to climb stairs in silent stale vomit…onto a roof of woodland sky, with a passenger seat of hardboard over my window it was then, an ancient flame shirt wore glasses of some powerful voice, sounding an accurate picture of a mission with full height of invisible doors ones, that I found and opened, even though comfort begged me not to… it was then, I watched flickering ash, gleam like some oddly muted warmth yes, it was a scorcher that summer wearing silver grey flecked empty blackness in some endless sea of unconcern that was drowning the ghost of me… twin searchlights flooded those shark inhabited waters…and I heard the strained voice of home grown stillness, brushing my tear stained cheek with warm air, reopening a comical expression of humble optimism and a cup of hazelnut java licking my wounds... I envy not, entertainment and lifestyles of the rich for in the darkest hours of professed instabilty was a grand poetic gold beyond any comparrison of richness, and I am indeed blessed not from anyone entity other then some metaphysical, that we all search for, but few understand.... love lives within and compliments like a ripple effect from a wish stone tossed over a stream... |

"ones, that I found and opened, even though comfort begged me not to…" One of the things I admire most about you is your fearlessness. That is the way you see and write! |

You have gone and baffled me again. I never walk away from this desk after reading you without feeling some emotional impact, but for the life of me, I had some trouble stitching the imagery together in this one. And I love the impactful hammering and granted, I enjoy the juxtaposition of opposing visuals--a method I enjoy employing as well, but oh my... I'd like to go through this one line by line. I'm sitting here wondering how I can like something so much and not know what it's about. (I ain't all that and a bag of I.Q., I fear.) But I did enjoy the read, but honestly (and I do try to be) I didn't quite comprehend. If you're not inclined to explain, that's understood too. (e mails are good though--and grin--phone calls better--besides, you are just a phone call away from meeting my Bettie. ) anyhoo... I'm just feeling like I ate an exotic meal and don't know what it was--it didn't even taste like chicken! Love ya Lee! |

"I envy not, entertainment and lifestyles of the rich..." There are too many great lines and images to pick out any one flash of understanding, but this line brought me a smile! Thanks. |

"wearing silver grey flecked empty blackness in some endless sea of unconcern that was drowning the ghost of me…" How do you put words together like that? Very well is the answer. |

if I had to be adrift at sea I'd prefer it to be with someone like you, who can turn a phrase ten differnt ways and leave me scratching me head, but in delight this one write alone has so many images bouncing off the screen, I am afraid if I catch even one image and really understand the full impact of it? it'll be like getting hit with a meteor shower |
