you mentioned something
about taking your breath away
in a memory's luggage
to a day dream cabana
some other lifetime from now

I read between your lines
the small print you magnified
as shadow art on your bosom
and the parchment of you
made my hands want to worship

but it was the unsaid you hinted
that left the door open
and your room was smaller then
for both of us to explore
without leaving your pillow

there was room for whispers
but none were needed really
so we talked out loud softly
with lips to ear sides
and our hollow places

shivered around our listening
