I dropped my ego on the ground |

I dropped my ego on the ground then turned around to see if it was trying to recapture me. Thankfully it stayed behind in the dusty dirt, allowing me to move forward into safe sanctuary, onto soulful stepping stones, which led me to a reflecting pond where I chanced to ponder how these feet did wander so far away from my original concept of self. I concluded this convoluted journey followed the only meandering pathway my soles could hope to follow. Leaving some ego in the dust was all right as long as I remembered to hold on tight to self-esteem, and walk boldly forward, free spiritedly into my own life light. |

Kacy, you're certainly a free spirit -- couldn't be a free spirit if you had too much ego pulling you down...lol! Enjoyed this. ...jo |

You know you are so good at titles that just make my mind think crazy thoughts! Not that I want you to stop. But I come in here and make myself look like a jerk and then laugh my butt off for hours. I was gonna say and I tried to pick it up but it was too big! It was a joke, lighten up everybody. I love you sis but can't help myself. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, |

Don't pay any attention to Larry, Kacy...you know where his heart is, and it's in the right place. I admire the free spirit that you are...however you got to that place...stay!! |

Yes, Midnitesun, I agree. It is important to be able to distinguish between ego and self-esteem. Some of the former doesn't do any harm, but a lot of the latter is essential. You made a very good philosophical point here. I enjoyed your poem. - Owl |

The conflict of ego and self-esteem bedevils us all. You've done well with your choices and your writing shows it. Well done. Ken Through rubble and trouble and dark of night |

It is wonderful that we do not possess EGO, but are simply possessed with the idea of ego. And it is wonderful that by Grace, our Minds are renewed and our sight given clarity. Wonderful writing !!! |
