Much that I once depended on has failed the test of time. 'Though many years have come and gone, you've stayed upon my mind; I think about the old home town and I wonder how you've been; And if by chance you're still around...could you love me once again? I know I never gave a good excuse for why I left; But I had dreams and you had plans that scared me half to death. My dreams just kept escaping me; and unless you've changed your plans... Do you ever think of me and could you love me once again? If I said, "Hello, it's me again... Would you have a smile for a long lost friend? Does your loving heart still hold a place for me? Through ups and downs and all arounds... Each thought of you is sacred ground; You've always been my favorite memory. There are times when I'd do anything to hold you once again, But I wouldn't trade a single thing for my memories of...Then. In this life of shattered dreams, that's a loss I could not bare, So I stay content to close my eyes...and see you standing there. I've always been a dreamer and wont give up my dreams of you... That somewhere, you're still loving me the way you used to do. Through so many miles and all these years, I wonder how you've been... Sometimes at night, you dry my tears and love me once again. |

You obviously know the circumstances best, but is it really all that impossible that you two could take up from where you left off? Or take up from a new beginning instead, if the former is not possible? Perhaps it is worth a try. It won't happen if you don't venture forth . . . Lovely poem! - Owl |
