I’m in a war I cannot win
While arguing with mind in day
So injured by the bickering
The striking swords that cut away
I challenge but do tend to fall
And wonder why I fight at all

A keeper holds the minds fulfill
But he has been and gone
Caught up within a silent kill
Finding he did not belong
Left me here to find my way
Fighting what won’t go away

There’s voices that do haunt and strike
The thoughts all grown from many years
The constant wants and then dislike
All protest and direction steers
Slowly I do bow my head
And wonder what to do instead

Conundrums...

sometimes lead to doldrums, methinks.

But you continue
to give it
your best
shot...

and that's why I so enjoy
your ponderings.

Hi Sunshine, I am fine, this just comes from the pen and some part of me, just nice to share with friends when something is there to give, thanks for your reply my friend, I will try to be happier, or at least try to write of happiness. Be well my friend and once again thank you for being there and taking time out.

Sincerely
Rick

Don't misunderstand, Rick.  I think what you wrote is just fine...and you let it out in a very thoughtful, respectiful way for the days when it just appears to be so gray...

You did just fine.

Hi Rick...
I indeed know about this...Too many thoughts.  You captured the feeling wonderfully. In the last few years, I have found meditation to be very useful in clearing the mind. The thoughts still come...but you gently remind them to go away! Most of the time, they will listen.

Well, Dear Rick, when I get distracted by too many thoughts 'talking' at once, I just ignore all of them and put on some soothing New Age music!

Your poetry is always a pleasure to read! I seem to be able to identify with every poem that you write!

Sending you a warm hug,
Linda

and tomorrow you'll get up and do it all over again . . . until the next battle.  Enjoy the lull in the action!  GREAT and honest write!
