Listening to every heart

Incredible

Trying to find some
mountainous height
along the valleys
and the swells
some glory road
to make things right
some stream to draw
a parallel
some birds and bees
creating life, in their own
way, to connote, some blackest line
held just right,
cutting through this loss,
this strife

Incredible
becomes the sound
in all ways I hear
its mean
no hole for this head,
no not shuttering these eyes

no, the masque comes off
but the spine remains
paralyzed

Far away this fetch
of what was held
so dear
against my own
this grieving wind
I sense your losses
near

far away from serene
ain’t no mountain high enough
less some valley seem
a place where we could fall in
pretending ‘twas all a dream…

for we would see
in each other’s eye
the pain within the gleam.

Then, ‘tis on this other side
of incredible you stand
adjective of choice
for us
on our journeys

hand in hand.

For the pleasures
that once gave buoy
now repairs to some
deepness of the well,
‘tis in this darkest dank,
this wet sound grows to
forfeit, sure
as some of what ‘twas joy
remains,
to buoy us away
from some infernal, fiery
grim torture.

Trust me, she knows.

Wow!  So lyrically you express the ups and downs.

Incredible.....or perhaps this man might suggest a better name, given the way it has affected me in the half dozen times I've read it, since you posted.....Indelible.
