Another night of broken sleep, memories I keep stored deep away from any source of light still manage to escape unpredictably at night when I most need to relax recover and rebuild. All these years and I have found no purgative to cleanse the soul, no fibrous thought to scape the inner workings of the residue of yearnings and in my dreams you have not aged. Now I am awake and I need sleep, where is this memory of pain and anger hiding as it waits to weave within my dreams? When the lights go on, where has your shadow gone now that it no longer steals my rest? At best I am a listener at other people’s trials, building spirit shelters at defiles in their souls, but life too easily loses focus at the edge of awareness and so I never play liar's poker in an empty room. ©2006 by icebox |

Hauntings in the night or just before awakening many explain away, but perhaps the ony way to escape them is to stop needing them. I wish you peace. And pleasant dreams to carry you into morning. ~ karen ~ |

icebox - Sometimes the fact that things are "buried" is the problem. Maybe we need to take them out, dust them off, and really, really, look at them for what they are - and then say, "what the hell". This may have to be repeated and repeated but just a suggestion - I'm still repeating so can't say whether it works or not. Good write though as always. Helen |

"liar's poker" that reminded me of a story, but since you are weary, I'll spare you the boring details. I can just sum it up by saying the guy beat me every time. Another lesson it took me a long time to learn. Your my oasis here at Pip, teddy bear. |
