Things just aren't the same, ever since the magic died; I think its a shame, theres no Time Machine to ride; To back before the world turned ugly... Back, before I knew they lied. No, things just aren't the same ever since the magic died. Once, everything was magic...a world of wonders to behold; I believed everything they told me...just like their words were gold. Nothing bad could happen...if I got down on my knees; Grandmas only napping and the Moon was still green cheese. Now... Santa Claus dont come to town; I guess I aint been good. George never did chop that tree down, And his teeth weren't made of wood. I never found the rainbow's pot o' gold; Theres been only rainy days. No matter how much salt I use... The birds all fly away. I didn't do a thing to that bee, But I still got stung. I cant be President, like they told me Back when I was young. I've had horseshoes, wishbones and rabbit's feet But nothing did any good. How much wood can a Woodchuck chuck... When he can barely knock on wood? Star light, star bright... I havent seen a wish; Or a dish run away with a spoon; But once, I saw a rocket ship... Kill the Man in the Moon. I've searched, but I cant find it... In a capsule or a keg. So tonight... I'm gonna tie some string Onto a June Bug's leg. I'll fill a jar with Lightning Bugs And get back that glow inside... 'Cause things just aren't the same Ever since the magic died. |

Larry, I dwell with you in the reality... but in my heart? Tinkerbell still comes to life if I clap hard enough! Yep... that's just the way God made me. I thank you for this...and wish some magic in your dreams... |

a finely written piece! magic still resides in words, thankfully! |
