seemed like a good month for a thaw the ice beside your door had turned web like at the edges tiny green shoots pressed through the earth you sent me that valentine that read couldn’t we maybe just for a while pretend herb tea afternoon whispers afghans firewood stacked and stacked and stacked quilts cold nights cold toes midnight giggles creamy coffee morning kisses smell of an unmade bed a sudden SNAP the ice beside your door is solid cold the tulips are dying somehow it feels like your fault |

I hear the boards on the porch under heavy footsteps the trembling of the timbers and the doorway shuddering jolly green giant? (sorry, got bit by a silly bug) enjoyed this |

Enjoyed the Read...You captured February pretty well, Thank you. I saw a tree FULL of robins 19FEB2006 in Boulder, Colorado. I didn't have the heart to tell them, "It isn't over yet..." INclan |

I liked the first part especially. The part about the ice going all weblike. It reminds me of a place I used to call home. Nicely done. |
