The Ground

I walk a lucid path
With tear drop footsteps
Dripping down the walkway
Leading to a place where my
Mind cannot corrode
Like it surely has in the past.
Sorrowfulness cannot break me
Unless what not can forsake me
It might be best to just take me

Simplicity be not able to lie
Down and forever fear me
Like my feet upon the earthquake ground
Something else is rotting open
Something ajar to let out the
Tears of the eternity.
Tears of acid to surely burn me.

Like plants without
Water sucking seeds
I float away from this land
And this reality.
So when the torture time
Comes calling back to me
I must fall back down to this
Highly decorated travesty.
Called earth,
Called home,
Called humanity.

My feet are hitting something,
But what could it be?
The Ground?
Yeah, that’s it…

I love this.

'Like plants without

Comes calling back to me
I must fall back down to this
Highly decorated travesty.
Called earth,
Called home,

But what could it be?
The Ground?
Yeah, that’s it…'

So placid...good metaphor.

Smile.

Sometimes the first word out of my mouth upon awakening is "damn"--as if I'd missed the bus again.

This reminded me of that side of me--at best, a reluctant participant of life somedays.

Have a hug, Ed Grim.

Really liked this Ed! Great work!

The soul would have no rainbows, had the eyes no tears.
