That’s what you said
as you headed for bed,
and you were right.

Today, I shall not do
what you want to do.
Instead, I am moving ahead,
persuing my dream,
in my private time frame.

I must do my own thing
before the final bell does ring.
For whom it tolls,
might be for me,
as early as
before dawn’s light, you see.

And ‘twould not be right for me
to have spent my final moment
doing your thing, not mine.
Not that your special thing
isn’t wonder-full.
It’s just that it belongs to you,
not me.

after years of one who controlled all yes i now sit and do my thing be it dream write create or watch movies till i find what i want instead of yours or eat what i want go where i want and especially feel what i feel just to be me before i go. great write
