My thoughts of you go dancing after midnight, dancing in the shadows on the moon, and I don’t mourn the time we’re not together, separation’s just a passing thought. I could have spent my whole life picking over images of how things ought to be; it always sounds like one of those silly circles, but freedom truly is a living state of being, being in the moment being free. You and I are separated by our choices, bodies bound by chains of time and word promises we both know could be broken, but then we’d not have grown the spirits we deserve. Though we’re apart I always feel you with me safely sheltered from the winds of fate and chance, and though I am surrounded by the needy, my thoughts become a shadow’s dance of love as the song of life turns poetry to lyrics set to silent music playing on the backdrop of forever, time is nothing but the story’s meter and simple rhymes become the threads that bind our love. ©2006 by icebox [This message has been edited by icebox (02-18-2006 09:41 AM).] |

"but then we’d not have grown the spirits we deserve." and that would have been tragic...for us all. "too bad ignorance isn't painful" |

Sometimes the things you write are so very True (the capital-T kind of true that Hemingway used to speak of), that it absolutely hurts to read them. This is excellent....and all too True. I'm glad I stopped for this one. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

"separated by our choice" a simple, but profound truth we do choose, don't we? |

I am always so impressed by your poetry, but this is especially meaningful to me, thank you, icebox~ |

You are so lovely, you are dangerous. Why, you should come with a warning label. |

Oh, I love this - very moving and powerful. I'm saving this~ Intellectually I know that Canada is no better than any other country. Emotionally I KNOW that Canada is the best country in the world! |
