Blue Words

your words
could have saved me
surrounded me
and covered me in warm kisses
and healed wounds
far past places under my skin
but pencils don’t write
as much as they use to
and phones sit quiet
waiting for the other to dial
who is it to say
they were right
and who is to say wrong
and who will say sorry
who really cares
who was right
and what does it all matter
anyway
when something said
is better than
all this damn silence
I do remember a time
when words brought us together
and now
all they do
is echo the gulf

just some words cut out
from the diary of my heart

silence calls to us in this and I'm wishing you both surrender to the moment, forgetting what is now past.

Wise right

My God, that was a long breath, lol. I love love love this. The truth, the passion, it is so fluent in speech and style. You have an immense gift most would kill for. Cheers  - Ed

How is it that words can be so powerful, so gentle and caring,
so honest and true if you will. And yet so meaningless!!!

Great poem, it's always good to read you Helen~

Helen, this has so much ache in it. I hope
the communication is found again. Silence
hurts so badly at times.

This makes me hurt.

Remember though, sometimes distance is only distance, and sometimes it is partly an illusion caused by things that loom too big in the foreground. The hard part is that it's almost impossible to tell them apart.

Your words always comfort me for I know whether they are happy or sad they are from the heart and that adds so much more to the meaning of your poems
