On an anniversary of death. ~ The sky is violet, although it is dusty and far from the beautiful thing it's known to be. There is ice crumbling from clouds and at your feet is gray slush; lamenting, I'm sure, because it knows no love. Inside the window is a clock staring wide-eyed red and ugly like a broken bone, sharp and useless. Always hurting someone. And you stand there alone, so alone. You're lonesome. And afraid. Hupomeno. |

Hey everyone. Just wanted to say hello to you all and let you all know things are well. Its SO great to be moved out and on my own. I've had a job for a week now and it has been good. The disability has been difficult but manageable/bearable to this point. I'm at the mall library and am about to run out of time but thought I'd update you all. I hope you all are well. I apologize to those who've written and had no response. Can't get here much, but know that I appreciate the notes more than you can imagine! God bless you each. Take care. Alyssa Hupomeno. |

Alyssa, Hi! I remember the occasion you wrote about last year or was it before leading up to it. You have such a sweet heart. And you have many friends here. I am glad you have a job but sorry it is difficult. Hope you enjoy your independence and are able to get to that library as much as posible. ....jo |

The Golden Girl is back! Hi, Alyssa! I was so pleased to read that things are working out well for you! Moving out and being on your own can be a bit scary ~ and lonely at first, but that will pass. You are free to live your life as you so choose. I am happy for you. This was a big step and you will do just fine. I know it is more difficult with your disability, but your heart, spirit, and mind are strong and will serve you well. Not only have you been missed ~ but so has your exquisite poetry! Sending you big hugs of love! ~ and congratulations on your move and your new job! Linda xo |

Dear Alyssa, How cool you are on your own. And congrats on the job. Hope you're getting rich. And if not I hope you know how to budget. Believe me I understand. Your poem does an excellent job of addressing the pain of loss. But more importantly I'm glad you have the courage to write about it. I think of you often and certainly appreciate the update. Peace dear girl...and 'til next time If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, |
