Talk not of the flower, except for your two lips Or the rose of a shy blush on skin as soft as a rose, Tell me of the flower’s inspiration that is her beauty; Enticing each bloom to be more lovely as it grows. She sits by the fountain in the morning sun Talking a siren song that dares not to be carried on the wind But is learned by every songbird before they take to wing; Her melody is for them to sing and to lovers lend. I long to be the flowers by her side in the garden May I be lucky enough to brush against her thigh? Or could I be the fountain water touching her hand, I understand why the breeze touches her and sighs. She is the centerpiece of love’s garden bed Where all romance is gently led. |
