I know, I know... it's winter...but, just couldn't resist a SUMMERTIME poem! "HAYROLLS" Children of the spring, shouldered dark against July's tree-line. Deathwound clover and timothy giving birth to the illusion of movement on the stillness of fodder. Are they circling the field, like westbound cloth-covered wagons - are they making camp? I rub my eyes and look again. Surely, the fences will hold till morning! |
