The Meaning of This of Sort of Odd Thing Odd it is to be an oddity like me. I walk upon bridges that do not ascend over water. I talk to the mirror that does not reflect my image. I see the sky but never look upwards. I decree that I cannot make a decision. I am the real pretender. I am the meaning of this sort of odd thing. |

I love the paradox and the images and the ambiance, you odd thing, you! How odd it would be not to be odd! For me, the only thing that detracts from the poem is your use of the word, "ascend" as "ascend" is a movement upwards. I would have preferred "crosses" or "stretches over". If I offend you with this, ignore this paragraph. Welcome to Passions in Poetry! I haven't been here long, but have been so welcomed that I know that nobody will take offence if I behave as though I have been here for ages. It is a wonderful forum to be in - the best I have ever encountered - and I don't say that lightly. - Owl |

Thank you OwlSA and majnu. Such a warm reception! And of course it doesn't offend me OwlSA; I welcome constructive criticism. And by the way, that is a good point; I will change that. Thanks for the advice. |
