These are the cages that we were, a mere five senses and little else, traps we had made of ourselves Our bodies on an aphelion spar, furthest from the sun of sense blessed by seductive ignorance These are the ages of the being: The first the gift of crafted speech, then the eye that lifts the meek. Mind that wishes perihelion heat, empathic to the star of reason. Skin to touch and relish season. The cages that the bars we smote All five senses and so much more Echo out in endless searching… We soar……… "And the sun went down, and the stars came out far over the summer sea, |
