Still, whistling wind, cutting skin like a whetted knife. Solid, creeking ice, freezing numbness, hands tingling, sea frozen in pause, glasslike. Pewter skies part, for slithers of light to peep. He stood on the pier, unable to fish, crusting ice stopping hooks. Out to sea, light raced ashore, moving closer to him by degrees. Out of the grey, the sun shone, the icy sea dazzled him, light so bright, like a sea of clearest crystal, overawed him, catching his breath, inside his head a voice gently spoke. Peter the fisherman, with the lord's power, melted the ice, and told him to believe as he cast to the waters. Stunned realisation came to him, belief moved through him, like sun through ice, power shone within him forever. Desire for nothing except desirelessness, hope for nothing except to rise above all hopes, want nothing and you will have everything.avatar Meher Baba. |

Stand up and take a bow! Superbly written and vividly descriptive! I really got into this poem and it held my rapt attention to the very end! Love & Crystal Light, Linda |
