Unnatural Disaster An unnatural disaster defining me and defying me this irregular beating of my heart out of time, this rhyme of mine fell apart once so sweetly beautiful In the prayer covering my soul let the hard wind blow but I'll bend with it like a willow not weeping but for her amber glow once so sweetly beautiful I've been moving slow like a hurricane, taking its toll on the friends I left back home on the love left in my bones for her memory Oh she gathered me up and carried me into the light she bathed me in her clear spring love and held me together through the night she introduced me to happily ever after and began to heal the wounds caused by unnatural disasters Now I'm standing here in a wide green field the cold day reflecting in my eyes the hurt I've caused, the tangled lies have left me vacant but hopeful for some new chapter to open up for me close the book on unnatural disasters and turn leaf over to see there's so much left to being me so much soul left in my soul once she made me feel so sweetly beautiful I've got to move on now like a survivor of a flooded town flooded with torrential tears weighed down by these fears if anyone will welcome me welcome me with their love and laughter healing these wounds of unnatural disaster I pray it'll be okay as I'm coming home and I know I'll never forget her amber glow I'll grow from it like a willow the branches sway to let me know I've still got so far to go "Poets are all who love, who feel great truths, and tell them; and the truth of truths is love." --Philip James Bailey |
