This One More Day, Before It's August |

Sunlight slants a different angle- Slight percentage, by degree. Falling south-the air seems fresher, On this summer-Sunday morning The earth spins normal-free Upon it's time-greased axis, this One more day, before it's August. The garden,(where it used to be) Is goldenrod and seeded-dock, Tinted heaven-blue by Chicory- Grown up wild with other weeds That ignorance of tasks increased; Nature heals the earth by proxy- Fallow ground, with other things That need no human nurture..see How finches reap wild grains- Niger, rapeseed dropped from feeders That avian ghosts have planted; The garden border, sown- Last winter, seed was scattered By gluttony, without thought Or knowledge...The golden birds Had planned for their own harvest. The garden seems a waste, But shows it's not! At least from my adjusted view of it This one more day, before it's August. |

"The garden,(where it used to be) Is goldenrod and seeded-dock, Tinted heaven-blue by Chicory- Grown up wild with other weeds That ignorance of tasks increased; Nature heals the earth by proxy- Fallow ground, with other things That need no human nurture..see" Yes, I see Ford..reminds me of parts of my garden, but, it's too dang hot to get out there and weed.. I've pretty well let nature take over and yanno? It looks great.. sort of like an English country garden. It might be the last day before August, but, just a few short days before my birthday. Love this write.. You have indeed penned another keeper m'friend. Hugs~Nancy Something tugs at me, I've no doubt of that. Something from the sea, whichever one I'm near. When I stray too far from beachland, it calls me back |

Ford The eye of a garden's care-taker, sees the beauty in every day, like you do. Your garden sounds very much like my own. |

I love how the birds take care of each other, by dropping seed to feed the ground feeders By the way, two bags of "Weed and Feed" got put on our lawn "by accident" and we are watering the straw hoping for a miracle that is not going to happen, but some men never give up! Loved the sit with you in your garden this last day of July. |

To come back here tonight And find this many nice replies Is pure joy.... To write a simple poem At daybreak, After looking out the window At the vegtable garden, (where it used to be) That was not, this year Because of other burdens And get such beautiful replies Sheesh! To cliché It doesn't get any better than this... Thank you ------------ice/ford ><> |

One more day, before it's August. Watching the corn climb the fenceless sky, before august enters, the stalks of delivery that will empty and die. |

Nature heals the earth by proxy- Fallow ground, with other things That need no human nurture..see yes I do, indeed, and I love listening How finches reap wild grains- Niger, rapeseed dropped from feeders That avian ghosts have planted; The garden border, sown- Incredible imagry!! Last winter, seed was scattered By gluttony, without thought Or knowledge...The golden birds Had planned for their own harvest. this to, comes in cycles... The garden seems a waste, But shows it's not! At least from my adjusted view of it This one more day, before it's August and there will be more, all is the way of things.... A Master would be smiling at the thought of this one... Wonderfully written Ford, thank you! |

Very nice. Sylvia Plath by way of mother nature's grace...and not so much obsession with death... Anyway. I very much enjoyed this. "Poets are all who love, who feel great truths, and tell them; and the truth of truths is love." --Philip James Bailey |
