There is a crack In the walk out back, It is not wide, No great divide, Just a smidgen, Where a dumb pigeon, Stuck in his beak, Perhaps to seek, A culinary treat, A seed to eat, But in the crack, In the walk out back, His beak got stuck, Our feathered schmuck, Wings a flapping, Feathers slapping, On the walk, How he did squawk, Then came the cat, All sassy and fat, She saw that bird, To her occurred, Lunch, A noontime munch, All set to pounce, That bird to trounce, The cat was set, A sure fire bet, But then came Rover, As he jumped over, The neighbor’s fence, And things got tense, A dog, a cat, a pigeon too, A squawk, a bark, the cat went mew, I called out to my dear Mable, Mable, you don’t need to watch no cable, Come over here to the back window, You ain’t gonna find no better show, This right here is one wing dinger, Puts to shame that Jerry Springer |
