~ By Sue ~ There were secrets I kept inside I didn't want anyone to know These were things I would always hide But, then my fear started to grow I rationalized all he would do Hoping it would all go away One day, I shared them with you You told me they would always stay My heart was aching bad inside It seems, you knew that, too You said I had way too much pride It seemed, I couldn't hide anything from you Even though, you couldn't see me Somehow, I think you knew How much my heart was hurting And that I felt so confused When I needed someone to talk to You were always the one who was there It seemed you understood how I felt And you showed that you cared If it had not of been for you I would still be there today Enduring all of the abuse He dished out to me each day From a distance, you reached out Showing me that you cared When I needed someone You were always there 9-12-04 |
