“On core” [, please, “On Family”] – Thank you, Simply Gold ~*~ On Core Rudiments, strung finer than a spider’s spindly web, where dreams hang like crystalline memories, caught…where slight thoughts slide via some sensory connection, level six… and deposits a seed onto a moment of touch, memory, and love combine to that core, and faith is blown on…. ~*~ Photos never before seen, albeit treasured in heart when some magic box snapped soul ~ how many fingers traced a smile, or height, or that he wore that hat, this tie, or his ring or safely embraced a loved one from fear ![]() Strange, this piece of “us”, that deep love, for he must be thinking, “it’s ok, it’s ok…, little one, Daddy is here…” but before me and our time, he stood this tall… ![]() and before that day, he sat, this short… playful, footsore, finding ways to cool off, to be content, a tow-head in an autumn light… ![]() Were he here, he would tell me that pup’s name, reminding himself of something else, a far away gaze gaining speed, but it would be when his fingers, grasping mine, my own being fingered, from nail to knuckle, back again, then mine, his; we did that, the finger game, sliding our sense of touch up one digit and down again, from one to another, feeling ribbed print, cascading over bruises, almost as if we could tell where we had been, on top of houses, nailing on shingles, sitting at desks, biting tips of pens in deep thought and anguished need; pain would come to my knees – he had knelt too long that day; he would begin massaging my legs, for I had run too hard. Were we one? Or just close extension of love, kneading our souls into senses as if he left his scent upon my fingertips when after a long day, even tomorrow, I might rub my hands and bring them to my face, nodding yes, you smelled this way… Scent… a terribly wonderful short way to memories, when we stretch to hold on when reaching for one’s core. © Karilea Rilling Jungel July 28, 2005 |

Karilea, thank you so very much for sharing this precious piece of your heart with mine. This was so touching it made me feel the moisture in my eye......but it's a tear of joy, dear lady. It made me just think of the song, "Precious Memories"......."how they linger...." and it made me think that my own Daddy is getting way up in years. I hate to think of when I will lose him and my Mama. I am so glad I have so many of my own "precious memories" shared with them both..... Thank you, again, Karilea for sharing your heart with us. Hugs, Ethel |

he did indeed leave his scent upon your fingers...a scent of your own, which you fast forward unto yours....and my oh my, if he were here, he'd be sheding tears of joy and utter amazement, at the sound of your words... as I am now, thank you very much! Good Morning Sunshine...Happy Monday ![]() And thank you for a pot of gold this morn |

"his fingers, grasping mine, my own being fingered, from nail to knuckle, back again, then mine, his;" And then... it becomes even more lovely! You are so in touch with your foundation. Your ability to perceive, express, and show appreciation for the smallest detail amazes me more and more! I'm sure he'd be proud of you. miscee |

A place of anchor to which it delightful to return even when your memory blurs into mine. ![]() If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |
