I Was Never A Mind Reader

Their whereabouts known
Their thoughts never are
Yet I can remember when
Distance was never too far

Would they remember me
I assume and supposed
Thoughts I have to guess
Their mind remains closed

Thoughts could be a guide
If I gained a clearer view
I never was a mind reader
What am I supposed to do

Still missing their thoughts
As I wonder how they are
All the things I had known
When we reached from afar

Thoughts I had relied upon
I'm no longer able to see
A question needed a reply
Had they thought about me

The title grabbed me ... mainly because just last week something came up with an acquaintance~
She said, "You should be able to read my mind." ... I could only 'think', never voice what I was thinking, "Well, it'll never make the Best Seller list!"
