I Read You

nonchalantly you sit
words on a page
bold black on blank
papered texture so smooth
yet rough as razor
to cut the tender, if
turned the wrong way
a history not to be repeated
a mystery to unfold
autobiography being written
upon a daily breath
and yes, I read you

like a book

just some words cut out
from the diary of my heart

But hasn't the image always been clear?

Nice to see you again dear Lady!  May God keep smiling over you and your pen.

Hi Helen!!
I like the way you're still telling it like it is.
It amazes me how some people think they have their
true colors hidden....especially when their true feelings
are so obvious. They think they have how they feel
hidden and covered up, when it's actually it's right
there on the page in full view for the whole world to see.
I hate it when people do this!! Why can't they just
be honest with their feelings?

I may be reading the wrong thing in your poem, but I've
got some friends who have been deeply hurt by things
like this.....on the internet and off. In fact, I
think that's why I so don't trust most people.

Well, Lady, I didn't mean to get started and write
a book myself. LOL
Good poem and so very true at times.
Hugs,

This brings me back to a feeling I've had too often here....of having seen too much in a poem, and maybe wishing you hadn't. I wish I had written this poem.

This write was nice.. I did like this one..  You have a point on "holding in emotions" when you keep something boggled up in you it can make things feel hecktic for you .. this is cool, keep it up!

Poetry is so beautiful!
