Ice’s Tanka July, mid-over As poets gasp, sweltering Watching for fireflies That might high light winter’s dusk Warming views of summer’s haze |

Fireflys....oh I would like.... ....and what I'd REALLY like is, to import some fireflys TO California, get 'em started in an area where they might thrive, like the hills east of Pasadena. The Golden West needs those flecks of night gold! ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> ______________Ratleader______________ |

The fireflies are all over up here... Did you ever put them in a jar and keep them beside your bed? I did and then let them go in the morning, of course. Between those and the bunnies and the owls and raccoons.. at times I have to give my head a shake and remind myself I live in the city. And..of course this sweltering heat... what a summer..and I appear to be very long winded today! LOL Hugs YOU! Something tugs at me, I've no doubt of that. |

Kari In the poem I wrote about July, I forgot..." summer’s haze" So much a part of the landscape here in these worn down mountains.. The trees give off tons of moisture, passing through the backs of their leaves Making summer fog...a form of grey beauty... "Watching for fireflies That might high light winter’s dusk" I have only seen the northern lights once, from here, but these lines reminded me of that time.. Thank you for this poem.... -----------ice/ford ><> |
