A kin-ta-ling betrayed the fan
and that is all the proof I have
that there lives a breeze
of gasp
of all that I could not perceive--
dancing electricity
just beneath the levee
breaks
a chiseling of need
I'd say
that the leaf is shuddering
because of bugs in fluttering
palmettos pinned by Luna's laugh
swollen, bright and swallowing
the sound of my own epitaph
silent in the street, I pray:

"surely there's a fan somewhere"

a kin-ta-ling-a-ling...

Bah, plenty of air, just no air current.  Quite aside from that, I really liked this simple picture into your world and climate.  Just glad I ain't there.

1) Anything more than 10% humidity is a shower while dressed.

2) Green is unnatural now.  Brown and shades thereof is the only way to go...though I might have been in the heat of Arizona a bit too long.

3) You'd put me to work fixin yer puter.

Well, I would not be able to stand that kind of weather I am afraid .  It was a lovely 80ish day here. and a very nice breeze down by the ocean.  That is where I parked my backside for the better part of the day and read and rolled, and read and rolled some more.  It was so good I am going to do it tomorrow too     Karen, I will have to send you a hand-held battery operated fan, they are awesome for many uses

I aint even going there.... lol

K this was great, and I am in SC and do NOT leave the house unless its an emergency.  Its too damn hot to think here, let alone breath.  I hate summer time....

Caint even go out unless you are near water, and I live no where near the coast.. and the water from the back yard hose is warm (yuck)

It'll be over soon hopefully

I love the Chill of an Early Fall

Karen, I'm battling the heat here too. It's
too hot to breathe sometimes.....and?? that
battery-operated hand-held fan sounds pretty
good about now. LOLOL

~ So vivid and full of life!

Here is a fan for you! Sports Fan 2

Oh, that probably isn't the kind of fan that you meant.

This is probably what you wanted. Crap Hitting The Fan Sorry about the crap that's hitting the fan. It's the only one I could find! lol

Great poem!

There's a whole new poem in "no air, there"...

And don't listen to Ali. He lives in sandpaper for skin country.

Popping in quickly here, to say, thanks again for reading. (And Ali? Is it hot in here or is it just you?) grin

I think I'll spend tonight hugging my a/c.

You guys are the best. (and oh..for my buddy who wondered, "kin-ta-ling" was just a glass wind chime I heard during my walk.)

Love to all. I'm gonna go sip some nice sweet tea and read my Faulkner.

Now THAT is a southern night in July, Kari.

It's not just down south Ser..
We've had record breaking temps in the 90's up here since June.
Excellent write..

Love ya lady~

Something tugs at me, I've no doubt of that.
Something from the sea, whichever one I'm near.
When I stray too far from beachland, it calls me back

We are in the 100 degree range here, and with this St. Louis humidity that amounts to a feel of 120.

Excellent write.
