* * *

A dear friend of mine passed away
just before Christmas and I wrote
this 3 days after her funeral

* * *

I am missing you already
And I feel empty deep inside
You were a big part of my life
Someone in whom I could confide

What will I do now
On Fridays around one?
As I stop and think about you
My heart slowly comes undone

You wouldn't want to see me cry
As I sit here in my sorrow
You would want me to be happy
Looking forward to tomorrow

I never will forget you
And in time, I will move on
But now is not the time
As I struggle to be strong

I spend time here in my garden
As thoughts of you come to mind
I remember you sense of humour
And you face, so warm and kind

I am lost within my thoughts
As I stop and reminisce
Within my heart you will live on
But it's your presence that I'll miss

I am in motion
I am blue
Love is an ocean
I'm anchored in you

This is wonderful, honest and true as only Australian's can do. Excellent job putting your sorrow into words.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

This was beautiful Sue, sorry about your loss, I too had two friends die last year. Your words rang true to feelings inside, thanks for sharing this and your heart.

Be well my friend and take care.

Sincerely
Rick

As we age, we face this,
and the truth of our own "soon"
more and more often.

But I sense your friend is holding you close...
with much warmth, and the love you've always known.

Sue,
Sorry for your loss, I know that you feel this closer to home.
Thinking of you. It was so nice to come back here and find you still writing.

Thank you all for your kindness and sincerity.  I have only just started writing again and am looking forward, as I know that is what my friend would have wanted.

Take care........Sue
