black spot doesn’t kill

and my rose is still blooming;

but the leaves, the leaves….

Each falling one a spear to the heart...

Superb write, my friend... so vivid I smell the sweet... feel the loss.

take soap and water
dilute it and spritz the leaves
more roses come spring

(and now ya'll know why I don't do those)

and smiling at you Ed...I realize this about more than horticulture, but as for my answer, shrug, that's me...

As Dorothy Parker once said, in a favorite quote of mine,

"You can lead a horticulture, but you can't make her think." ?

Good luck Sir Greenthumb!

Karen is right about that way to get rid of blackspot.  Also, time and change (spring) and all will be better.     I came back to say, talk to your rose...they like that!

Nice!

I feed mine dehydrated manure.  They love it!

...and the scent of the rose improves.

Black spot, when they say it, rose growers cringe....nice that a poet notices...

I refrain from planting all but disease resistent hybrids on my landscape jobs...

I plant "Knockout" for a shrub type, and if people insist on a hybrid tea..."Yellowstone" seems to be free from the problem.
