Hey Lady--you from 'round here? I've been working on one for St. Bernard as I find the name of that forgotten parish ironically significant. Lafitte was beautiful once, and yanno? All those big mansions never looked right in a little fishing village to me. It'll be beautiful again, though it may take two decades for the palmetto forest to recover. (You did the colloquialisms quite well too.) I enjoyed the read, but like you, I prefer to see the children of Lafitte with their cane poles and those corks bobbin' from da crab nets.  Hope to read more from you. |
