http://www.lepoeme.com/content/view/17/48/ Perhaps one day all will be as calm as the ocean that sings me to sleep As calm as the crisp snow under my passing tread, soothing with every beat of its crackle As calm as the moonlight shining upon my face as I look to the stars for answers As calm as the steam rising from my bath to whisper to me that all is well But on this day that calmness cannot sooth, cannot remedy my faltering steps In each step I take I fall farther, but to where I know not Does it matter? I wonder, yet sink deeper into the unknown. As deep as the ocean that once sang me to sleep. I wake up gasping for breath only to find myself lost in a field of emptiness So cold, so alone, watching myself through the silence, looking for a way out Yet wanting so badly to stay in my calm white field of blissful sorrow The ground beneath me trembles and I once again begin to step For each step, there is a reason, but for mine I can find no comforting answer No star which can show me the path I must follow or aid my step My tears grasp the moonlight tightly against my face, only to let it go again I watch it fall, slip away as it runs down my cheek and hits my feet, where it stays, still I breathe deeply and begin to suffocate as the whispering drowns me Everything around me begins to blur, yet I can see so clearly The steam hits my face in waves of speed, beauty, and stillness I wake up, and there I am, still sleeping, still calm, and that day is still not today |
