imagine the darkest day. a day when no lights will shine and colours all fade to black. will his gift make the light shine once again? imagine a day when you can only see by feeling around. lost in a familiar place. what will you do on that darkest day? the darkness that has fallen is here to stay. no sunshine light, only the warmth from its rays will let you see it shining. you cry because you cant watch your little girl at her high school graduation, because you cant see your first grand child and because your lost in familiar surroundings. it is said we only remember the good things in life so if we're blind, will the images remain forever or will they too fade away? -Note Another repost from my old accaount. I still have a few to repost and edit- |

Dave, I’ve been thinking a lot about what you said . . . I’m not going Saint Augustine on you; if I faced a life of pain or inescapable continuous bad company I would not want to outlive the courage to end it, but I wouldn’t have that much of a problem being blind. So much of my life has and more so now is inside my own head that seeing mostly only serves to keep me from bumping into things or going to or with what and who I no longer want to bother about. I can see colors inside, things, people, even those I’ve never actually met. I’ve traveled the world and through time with my eyes closed. I’ve loved and been brave. If I were left in peace, I think I could be, though differently, happy. John |

The heart doesn't forget. Perhaps the images just become interpretted in a different media. Call it "fade" if you will. I choose to believe they do not fade, but instead, remain in a more precious sense. ![]() |
