nearly capsized, again

struggling to breathe
within life’s tempestuous storm cycles

wave after wave of testy travails
wash over me

but I rise to ride the crest

(not being one to be swallowed up by despair)

I care too much some days,
become part of the drowning deluge,
caught within capricious seas
of anger, despair, sadness, loneliness

but I shall re-surface

for I am familiar with
the physics
of treading water

and shall simply sit and await
the correct wave

I always re-surface, being made of light weight quirky quarky cork material. And I intend to be a float in January.

I think I understand you a little. For all the sadness in and around our lives, we tend to flow with it and bob around on this restless sea called life. Doing what we can to try to help a few others. Once in a while we drink in too much salt but soon spit it out and sputter and continue until the next wave finds and dumps us once again. Though it all we share the wonder of it all and can smile and laugh and find a way to live through it. Hugs to you, martyjo
