http://www.lepoeme.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=18&Itemid=51 A warm sunny day about half past 10, While I was walking along that road again. I looked down at my feet and then up at the street, And noticed the grim gloomy faces then. All set on their task and not looking back, Could barely notice their very own track. Maybe a look, an awkward passing glance, A contest to see whose eyes would last prance. A smile just too late and three steps too fast, A commonplace thing in our every day dash. Where are you going? What’s all the rush? No answer of course, just an agreed upon hush. Eyes like a sheep and a walk like a horse, Galloping down the road right back to their source. Day in and day out on the same path they stray, Not even a herdsman need show them the way. A sin indeed it was to witness this display, On such a beautiful and perfect midsummer’s day. But alas so is life and the path is well paved, So why stray any differently from the one that God gave. Well maybe that’s true, and the whole world isn’t for you, And all you need is that same idle speed. But just in case, here’s a smile at my pace, Maybe it’ll show you there’s more than one face. ~Kal |

Hi, Kal! I am pleased to see you posting your poetry here at pip! "A smile just too late and three steps too fast, A commonplace thing in our every day dash. Where are you going? What’s all the rush? No answer of course, just an agreed upon hush." ~ This is my favourite stanza! Yes, indeed, a scenario far too common! May all your days be as perfect as those of midsummer! Warm, welcoming hug, Earth Angel |

I have to ditto the favorite passage, as it was that very thing that one day threw my hands up in the air to say, "Enuf, I quit!" I have never worked since! Enjoyed this one very much. |
